Balbius Travel, an expert  tour operator in cultural, adventure and family trips, was founded and is run by the Usta family. Balbius bears letters from the names Bahar and her beloved son Alp and daughter Bilge.  Huseyin, father of the family, made his contribution with "us"  from his family name Usta, skilled and experienced in Turkish.  Balbius Travel is based in Antalya, on the southwest coast of Turkey.

With an M.Sc. from Oxford and a doctorate  from Istanbul University in Forestry, Huseyin is an accomplished outdoorsman and a passionate naturalist.  He has been in cultural and adventure travel business since 1987. 

Omer Alp is an enthusiastic and energetic trip leader and a nature lover. As being an industrial engineer he also works to optimize the activities and organization of

Balbius Travel.

Bahar's study in banking and insurance is different than her husband Huseyin's but they have completely common  interests in history and nature. She takes part in trip planning besides financial affairs of Balbius Travel . 

Bilge, a classical archaeologist, is the youngest of the family. She both leads the trips of Balbius very successfully and deals with tour operations.

The main policy of Balbius Travel, culturally and ecologically, is to be conservative with minimum  impact  on  the  environment. 

Your safety and security, as well as meeting your trip expectations are our most important tasks. Each of our unforgettable trips  is very carefully designed for small groups to fulfill all these tasks in a friendly atmosphere.

Our enthusiastic trip leaders are all graduates or post graduates in a variety of fields, such as archaeology, art history, ecology, natural sciences, natural history, education and medicine.  They're all experienced in trip leading and registered by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

We select small cozy hotels, in conformity with the natural or cultural environment,  all-comfort vans and for the sailing trips, the best available gulet boats with experienced and friendly crew.
